Louis Gauthier founded Atelier Louis L’artisan Inc. in 1976. Taught by his father and grandfather, gifted with talent and blessed by creativity, Louis custom built wood furniture from a very young age. In 1980, he re-oriented his entrepreneurial activities toward custom kitchen cabinets. Further expansion of the company included a considerable enlargement of the workshop in Bourget; the purchase of new and more sophisticated equipment; as well as, the remodeling of the showroom. Ongoing improvements and developments have been part of the company’s values ever since. Now, more than 20 employees and many sub-contractors work together to ensure that Louis L’artisan remains the most reputable and renowned cabinet makers of Eastern Ontario.
The great success of this family owned business encouraged Louis and Sylvie Gauthier, the original owners, to think long-term. They passed on their corporate values to a new generation and gradually gave way to Marie-France Castonguay, their daughter, Denis Gadouas and Benoit Lortie. Since 2015, the 3 co-owners have been working to preserve the notoriety left by founders while integrating their personal management style and looking towards the future. Always as passionate Louis is present on a daily basis and is proud to pass on his know-how to the team.

We offer customized cabinets in a wide variety of styles, wood types, colours, finishes, and hardware for your entire home or office. We also supply and install an array of countertops, such as quartz, granite, marble, laminate, wood, and more.

A personalized design will be presented for your review. Under the designer’s guidance, you will select from a wide range of products such as, hardware, countertops, flooring, plumbing, and lighting fixtures. Once your project plan is in place, an evaluation of the cost will be proposed. Together, we can optimize the plan to stay within the boundaries of your budget.

Skilled craftspeople will build your cabinetry locally, paying attention to every detail under strict quality controls. Louis L’artisan is staffed with dedicated, long-standing employees with over 300 years of combined work experience.
Our small-scale manufacturing facility is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery. We tailor each project according to the clients’ specific needs. Since there is no mass production, this allows us to custom build, provide greater flexibility, and ensure better quality.
The cabinets, doors, and mouldings are manufactured using the highest wood grades and finishes. Both solvent and water-based finishes are available.
